Stargazing @ Stonelick Lake - Saturday March 21st, 8:00
The predictions look good this weekend. ( A few people are going out tonight to brush up their observing skills around 8:00pm. )
This time of year all the Messier Objects are visible the same night - if you start at dusk and stay till dawn. It's called a Messier Marathon and lots of web sites have strategies for navigating the Virgo supercluster and bagging M30 over in Capricorn in the early morning light. It's a great way to get back in the swing of things.
Comet Lulin is over in Gemini near Wasat & looks good in a medium scope.
Saturday should be clear with a low in the 30's. We'll be setting up around 8:00~8:30 & should have coffee going before too long.
