Stargazing tonight, Saturday September 19th - mostly clouded out
I've been hoping for a better forecast but all the predictions are leaning toward mostly cloudy with half a chance of thunderstorms after midnight.
Traditionally October has the fewest cloudy days around Cincinnati, maybe we'll be lucky and one will fall on a new moon Saturday.

Perseid Meteor Shower tonight - Wed. August 12th
The annual Perseid meteor shower should be putting on a show tonight. The peak fell last night but the waning gibbous Moon & murky skies hid the fainter guys. The Moon's rising later tonight and the humidity's down, a handful of folks are going to Stonelick for a few hours around 10:00 tonight. If you have any questions call the Observatory or me at home.

Stargazing @ Stonelick Lake Saturday June 20th
Once again there's no general consensus about Saturday night. Some preditions are calling for clear skies with a slight chance of isolated showers, others are saying expect 50-70% cloud cover and chance of thundershowers.
We'll know tomorrow night. If it looks good we'll be setting up around 9:00 and coffee should be going by 11:00.

Observing this Weekend - April 17th & 18th
The predictions are calling for some clouds to mostly cloudy skies Saturday night. If the sky isn't to bad we can try to get some stargazing in between 8:00 & the approaching front Sunday morning.
Tonight, Friday, a couple folks are talking about going to Stonelick around 8:00 instead. The sky looks great and it might be the best opportunity this weekend.
If you're interested give me a call for updates, 575-5556.

Stargazing @ Stonelick Lake - Saturday March 21st, 8:00
The predictions look good this weekend. ( A few people are going out tonight to brush up their observing skills around 8:00pm. )
This time of year all the Messier Objects are visible the same night - if you start at dusk and stay till dawn. It's called a Messier Marathon and lots of web sites have strategies for navigating the Virgo supercluster and bagging M30 over in Capricorn in the early morning light. It's a great way to get back in the swing of things.
Comet Lulin is over in Gemini near Wasat & looks good in a medium scope.
Saturday should be clear with a low in the 30's. We'll be setting up around 8:00~8:30 & should have coffee going before too long.
